About a Dance Mag - Online
An online dance magazine spotlighting independent dance artists worldwide.
It is separate from, but connected to, the print edition of a Dance Mag.
Our print magazine has been looking at the world through the lens of dance since 2018. Our online magazine, launched in 2025, gives dance artists a platform to be seen on their own terms within an editorial framework that respects the work.
We are independent, artist-owned, and ad-free.
Editorial Focus
We publish independent dance artists, emerging and established, across four formats:
Opinion — writing on anything dance-related, with an original perspective.
Reviews — experiential or critical writing on independent dance work, pitched by artists and writers who want to express a point of view or an experience.
Conversations — two artists in dialogue, pitching a topic they want to explore together.
Announcements and Features — project submissions from artists, selected on clarity, relevance, and fit.
Pitches for reviews, opinion, and conversations are selected on merit alone — no fees charged or paid. Project features carry a publishing fee. These fees sustain the platform and keep it ad-free.
